DOMAINE DE COUVENT GEVREY CHAMBERTIN “LA ROMANEE” 1ER CRU 2022 BIN 9 France / Burgundy / Gevrey Chambertin 14.0% Consistently one of the highest rated La Romanee wines, it is aromatically complex, with an elegance only really found in the La Romanee terroir. An unusual combination of soils and scree give this wine a much higher minerality than typically seen in Gevrey Chambertin. VOLNAY LES CHAMPANS 1ER CRU, DOMAINE MARQUIS D’ANGERVILLE 2009 BIN 55 France / Burgundy / Côte de Beaune 13.5% An incredibly complex, fresh and seductively perfumed nose offers up a wonderfully layered set of ripe red berry fruit, cassis, mineral and spice aromas that introduce sappy and lacy yet serious middle weight flavours that possess both excellent power and fine volume, all wrapped in a magnificently long finish. The tannins are quite firm yet they’re also well-integrated as the abundant dry extract pushes them to the background.

A flamboyant and expressive grand cru.Intense dark ruby in the glass, the nose is rich with dark fruits accompanied by a truly delicious mocha note. On the palate elegant strawberry notes emerge slowly and the mocha transforms into leathery notes as the tannins soften. Domaine Varoilles no longer exists so enjoy their wines while they last.
